Brett and I moved into our first home 2 years ago. A cozy cape style home with 4 bedrooms + 1 bathroom. Okay, so the whole 1 bathroom thing is a struggle, but we make do. It usually consists of tripping over each other while Cole rummages through the cabinets looking for his toothbrush, or anything he’s not supposed to have. As a homeowner there is one thing I have learned; you will ALWAYS want to update or change something in your home. ALWAYS.
A kitchen to me is the heart of the home. A place where friends and family gathers, creating memories and favorite meals. When you walk into our home, the first place you see is our kitchen. Now before I show you the ‘before’ photos, we didn’t make any drastic changes for a while. We were newlyweds, trying to get a grasp on marriage, money, and sharing that small ass bathroom. Of course we wanted to change everything right away, but reality check- unless we were winning the lottery, this was going to be a slow process.
We did things together. We created an image in our heads and a plan and started slowly making changes to our little home. It wasn’t until recently we updated our kitchen. And let me tell you, the difference is unbelievable. Shoutout to my hubby for bustin’ his chops for making all of this possible. We went from orange, outdated everything, to a crisp, white, shiplap-filled space. I’ll let the images speak for themselves. A few thousand trips to Lowes later and we have exactly what we had hoped for.
