Let’s talk social media; we allll do it, have it, and are obsessed with it. It’s a way of life now, the connection, sharing, posting. Ever wonder how many miles your thumb has scrolled through your Facebook and Instagram feeds? I have, and it’s a shit-ton.
Social media is powerful. If used correctly, it can be an amazing outsource of information and connections. Just recently I started doing research about Instagram + how to expand my blog and followers. You wouldn’t believe all the information out there on the World Wide Web, and Pinterest (of course my go-to). I’d be lost without the internet, especially as a first time mama. I mean what would we all do without WebMD and the self-diagnoses of all the disease listed that we must have because the symptoms are on point (insert laughing emoji here). No but seriously, it’s amazing that our generation has advanced this drastically and are capable of doing so much via cell phones, computers, and iPads. Although I could go without seeing the constant updates on Facebook by that “one friend”- you know, that one friend that posts every 5 minutes, every detail of their day, down to when they use the bathroom. Social media is great and all, but some things shouldn’t be shared 😜🙈🤔.
I wanted to share with you guys some of my must have apps I use for my social media, and my new accessory that I’m OBSESSED with:
- Snapseed: this app is amazing. I primarily use it to brighten the background of my photos so that they are brighter and white. If you’ve seen my Instagram feed, my cohesive look is bright whites and neutral colors.
- ColorStory: you NEED this app. This has all the filters you could dream of. I like my photos clean and bright, and this app is my go to when editing my pictures before I post.
- Snug: this app literally loads your current Instagram feed, and allows you to add photos to see what your feed will look like before you post it. Back to the whole cohesive theme- this is just that extra step to make sure your feed looks appealing to the eye. (this one costs .99 cents)
Run people, go download that shizzz now.
My latest and best purchase thus far is a little something called Lightening to SD card Camera Reader. This little device (and by little I mean it can fit into your diaper bag or purse for easy access) plugs into your iPhone on one end, and the other end has the SD memory card reader. This means that you can take the memory card right from your DSLR camera, and import the high resulution images straight to your iPhone in 2.2. GAME CHANGER. What used to take at least an hour to upload the photos to my laptop, edit them, and e mail them to myself, now takes a simple “plug in” and a few moments. Those images are directly on my iPhone and I can edit them with my favorite apps. I’ll leave the link below so you can get one, too. You’re welcome. (P.S it’s only $29)
