If you’ve read my previous blogs, you may have picked up on the fact that I am a firm believer in DIY gifts. “Do It Yourself” projects are good for the soul. And seriously, what’s cuter than the product of a tiny human?
The month of June is FULL of celebrations. My husbands birthday is June 3rd, next up is Father’s Day, and we celebrate our wedding anniversary at the end of the month (June 29th). So basically this mama has her hands full (per usual). Simplicity is more. For any of these projects all you need is your little babe(s), baby-friendly paint, paper, and a permanent marker.
Tiny hands + tiny feet will make anyone’s heart melt. Ok but for real, little kid prints only- I have a serious phobia when it comes to feet and how much I hate them. Doing this project on an adult is not cute. I repeat it is not cute. Leave this one to the littles.
Have plenty of paper towels, baby wipes, and possibly a helper. My little one is a very curious one year old, so the moment he saw me take out the paint, you could see the mischief glowing in his eyes. Set them in your lap, give them a toy to keep them preoccupied, and start painting their little toes. I used a small paint brush to apply the paint. *Do one at a time. Trust me, this will make the process that much easier. Press the foot firmly on the paper, and lift it up. Wah-la! Make sure to clean that foot with a baby wipe before getting started on the other.
There’s nothing more sentimental than hand made things. Because the truth is, these little hands, and tiny feet aren’t going to be that small forever. Being able to have these precious keep-sakes is so important, and will forever be a reminder just how small our babies were.
